Access Coach

The Access Coach is a member of an integrated university success team providing individual academic and personal support to an assigned group of students as they progress through their time at SUNY Plattsburgh. The successful candidate will help students with various topics and executive functioning skill building, including academic progress, course advisement, financial literacy, time management, study skills, and test-taking strategies. Specific duties are expected to include, but not be limited to: Providing counseling to selected participants regarding academic, financial aid, career, and personal topics; Reviewing student progress and tracks student use of academic support services; Conducting regular outreach to faculty and other college staff to support student success; Maintaining accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student; Organizing periodic special events and programs for students, faculty, and staff; And working with other offices to provide advocacy and other services to assigned students. The Accessibility Resources Office (ARO) works with all students on campus who identify as having a disability providing equal access for students to have equitable opportunities during their time at college. We are part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body.
