Position Definition :
The incumbent will be conducting research related to multiple neurosurgery studies including mouse colony maintenance, tissue processing, histology/immunohistology, FACS, cell isolation/culture, gene/protein expression, and animal behavioral studies.
Essential Functions
The work environment is a biomedical research laboratory. It may include minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may be required to sustain standing and seated postures and to use a computer keyboard and display monitor for prolonged periods.
The base salary range for this position is $23.56 - $28.06 per hour. The base salary actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.

Position Definition :
The incumbent will be conducting research related to multiple neurosurgery studies including mouse colony maintenance, tissue processing, histology/immunohistology, FACS, cell isolation/culture, gene/protein expression, and animal behavioral studies.
Essential Functions
- Perform PCR, genotyping and mice colony maintenance
- Perform small animal surgery and animal tissue collection, including perfusion and dissection
- Perform immunohistochemistry techniques on animal brain sections
- Perform cell isolation and FACS staining/analysis
- RNA extraction
- Prepare assays and equipment for research studies
- Maintain cell culture including BMDM using aseptic techniques
- Perform laboratory administration activities including the maintenance and ordering of equipment and supply, maintaining animal and experimental inventories, and filing work/repair orders
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Prior lab experience preferred
- Familiarity with standard laboratory practices and equipment operation
- Computer literacy with emphasis on current Windows operating systems and software applications including Excel, Photoshop, and presentation software
- Ability to accurately follow experimental protocols
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
