Job Description

Walbar Engine Components is a world-class, independent precision manufacturer of turbine engine component for aerospace, power generation and diesel locomotive industries.

Walbar specializes in hot-section turbine components for larger commercial aerospace engines, including turbine blades, nozzle guide vane segments (NGVs) and seal segments.

We focus exclusively on partnerships with key engine OEMs and we deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions, enabled by our deep technical expertise, uncompromising attention to detail, and comprehensive local supply chain.

Position Summary:

Support operations in the timely and effective resolution of product and process issues on production and NPI activities and must ensure that company and customer requirements are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developed manufacturing processes for the production of turbine blades
  • Helps establish quality improvement goals and objectives that support company financial plans and customer requirements.
  • Constant process improvements on a Kaizen journey.
  • Process engineering, making process easier.
  • Provides training to manufacturing personnel in the use of statistical techniques.
  • In conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel
  • Confers with management, customers and suppliers in planning, scheduling, coordinating and directing processing activities to ensure conformance to customer requirements and specifications.
  • Supporting company policies, procedures, goals, objectives and goods manufacturing practices.
  • Applies Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools to the production process.
  • Performs root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis in the disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Support Quality engineer in Non-conform material disposition when is required. AS9100 knowledge and understanding.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in a quality field, aerospace preferred
  • Familiarity of statistical techniques.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Project – Minitab a plus.
  • Must possess solid analytical skills, hands on, not afraid to make mistakes.
  • Organized, logical, and detailed oriented with excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills, able to communicate through all levels and directions of the organization.
  • Ability to follow through, complete assignments, and achieve desired results.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar project tool.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – spreadsheets, word processing, presentation development.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to direct, lead, coach, and develop people.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business environment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers.
