Durham Community School is seeking a thoughtful, dedicated, and collaborative Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. We are looking for someone who is eager to partner closely with the principal, support our staff, and help sustain the strong culture of learning and care that already exists in our school.
The Assistant Principal plays a key role in the daily life of the school. This includes supporting student behavior and restorative practices, helping facilitate schoolwide systems including MTSS, supervising and evaluating staff, and contributing to the overall organization and flow of the school day.

- Have elementary school teaching experience and strong understanding of the developmental needs of young learners
- Be a calm and steady presence when supporting students through behavioral challenges
- Communicate clearly and build trust through listening, transparency, and follow-through
- Value collaboration and actively seek input from those impacted by decisions
- Be highly organized and dependable in managing the many operational aspects of a school
- Approach leadership with humility, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous growth

Requirements
- Maine Building Administrator Certificate (40) or Maine Assistant Building Administrator Certificate (45)
- Successful elementary teaching experience
