Position Overview

The Gail Bierenbaum Leadership Council (GBLC) is a Rider community of diverse, accomplished students and alumni who champion advancing leadership, mentoring and philanthropy.

The GBLC seeks a part-time Program Coordinator who will oversee, manage and coordinate the day to day functions of the leadership council with an emphasis on oversight of the mentoring program. Working closely with the Director of Career Development and Success, the leadership team of the Gail Bierenbaum Leadership Council and colleagues in the Department of Advancement, the Program Coordinator will plan, manage and administer the day to day administrative and operational activities for the GBLC, with a strong focus on the mentoring program. The Program Coordinator will serve as the primary contact for the council and the mentoring program and will work closely with Admissions to recruit and select first year students to the program. Other essential duties include organizing signature and high-profile events; oversight of the student leaders, maintaining the mentor/protégé directory and database, outreach and engagement with mentors; planning meetings and workshops, budget management, program marketing and reporting.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, with 4-6 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Computer proficiency required with an emphasis on word processing, spreadsheet management (MS Excel), and data management and assessment skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent data management, and computer programs (i.e. Microsoft office, Excel, Google Drive).
  • Ability to think critically and analyze problems and user requirements.
  • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to develop assessment tools and manage/report data outcomes.
  • Knowledge of or experience of fundraising or development experience in a university, college, private institution, or non-profit setting, or transferable skills and experience.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge software.
