Overview
Charleston Grounds Management is a growing commercial landscape maintenance company serving HOA and commercial properties throughout the Charleston area.
We are hiring a Director of Operations to lead and own all day-to-day field operations across maintenance, enhancements, irrigation, and chemical divisions.
This is a senior leadership position with full operational authority and accountability. The ideal candidate has strong operational experience, understands financial performance, and brings sales and contract negotiation experience to the role.

- Oversee all field production and crew performance
- Run weekly labor vs. budget meetings, and Sales/Production Meeting
- Improve routing, scheduling, and operational efficiency
- Enforce safety and equipment standards
- Ensure jobs are completed on time and within budget
- Own gross margin targets for maintenance and enhancements
- Monitor labor percentage weekly
- Drive job costing accuracy within Aspire
- Report weekly KPIs to leadership
- Improve operational profitability
- Support Account Managers with client strategy and renewals
- Assist with contract negotiations and pricing discussions
- Identify enhancement opportunities
- Strengthen overall revenue performance
- Hit Revenue Sales Goals for the company
- Lead and hold Account Managers accountable
- Develop foremen and field supervisors
- Address underperformance directly
- Build leadership depth within the field
- Drive proper use of Aspire Landscape Software
- Strengthen reporting and operational structure
- Standardize production expectations
- 7+ years in commercial landscape operations leadership
- Minimum 5 years experience as a commercial landscape Account Manager
- Proven sales experience in commercial landscape services
- Ability to assist with contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions
- Experience managing $8M+ in annual revenue preferred
- Strong understanding of labor budgeting, gross margin control, and job costing
- Proven track record improving operational and financial performance
- Experience with Aspire or similar landscape ERP systems
- Comfortable reviewing P&Ls and financial metrics
- Strong leadership presence with high accountability standards
- Ability to lead managers, foremen, and field teams effectively
- $105,000 – $135,000 base salary (based on experience and qualifications)
