Power BI Integration Specialist
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- 6–10 years of experience in Power BI development and administration.
- Proficiency in Power BI REST APIs, JavaScript SDK, and Power BI Embedded.
- Deep understanding of RLS/OLS, workspace management, and dataset security.
- Hands-on with Azure AD, service principals, and token authentication flows.
- Knowledge of DAX, data modeling, and performance tuning best practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, PowerShell automation, and monitoring frameworks.
- Configure Power BI environments (workspaces, datasets, reports, and gateways).
- Develop REST API–based automation for report publishing, dataset refresh, and workspace synchronization.
- Manage embed tokens, service principals, and app registrations for secure embedding.
- Implement SDK-based integration for embedding, parameter passing, and event tracking.
- Define and apply RLS/OLS rules based on user roles and data sensitivity.
- Synchronize user roles and access with external IAM systems.
- Enable secure dataset sharing, report cloning, and versioning.
- Establish telemetry and audit logging frameworks for usage analytics.
- Automate monitoring of dataset refreshes and workspace capacities.
- Build usage dashboards leveraging Power BI Admin APIs.
- Manage incident response, workspace governance, and performance tuning.
- Work with backend developers to implement token and API-based report access.
- Partner with data engineers to ensure clean, optimized data models.
- Provide training and documentation for embedded report management.
- Automate deployment workflows for Power BI assets using PowerShell or Azure DevOps.
- Maintain scripts for environment migration and dataset lineage validation.
- Evaluate and implement new API features or SDK improvements for continuous enhancement.
