We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly analytical Remote Estimator to support our growing operations in pavements, earthworks, and general roadworks. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, and client quotations that reflect project scope, specifications, and industry standards. The ideal candidate has strong civil construction knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Costing

– Prepare detailed cost estimates for pavements, earthworks, drainage, and general roadworks projects.

– Conduct quantity take‑offs from drawings, plans, and specifications.

– Analyse project documents to identify materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.

– Develop competitive and accurate quotes for clients based on project scope and timelines.

– Maintain and update cost databases, pricing sheets, and estimation templates.

Technical Review & Documentation

– Review engineering drawings, site plans, and tender documents to ensure full understanding of project requirements.

– Identify potential risks, omissions, or discrepancies in project documentation.

– Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for proposals.

– Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify scope and confirm assumptions.

Client & Internal Coordination

– Communicate with clients to gather missing information, clarify requirements, and provide updates on quotes.

– Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability.

– Support the operations team by providing cost insights and recommendations during planning and execution.

Process & Quality

– Ensure all estimates align with company standards, industry best practices, and safety requirements.

– Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes, tools, and workflows.

– Maintain organised records of estimates, revisions, and submitted proposals.

Qualifications & Experience

– Proven experience as an Estimator in civil construction, preferably in pavements, earthworks, or roadworks.

– Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in civil works.

– Proficiency in estimation software, spreadsheets, and digital take‑off tools.

– Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

– Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills.

– Strong written and verbal communication skills.

– Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple estimates simultaneously.

– Experience working remotely is an advantage.
