The Senior Vice President ’s responsibilities are to develop, implement and operate the strategic and commercial objectives of their division. The SVP is also responsible for leading all day-to-day aspects associated with running their division and will be a business partner with the President of Distribution and the NFI leadership team. The position will also participate in shaping the strategic future and the value drivers of the business. The role will have full P&L and accountability.
A direct report to the President of Distribution, Kevin Patterson, the SVP of Warehousing is a critical member of NFI’s Distribution team. This role will enable further development of the fast-growing Distribution business and a critical element of NFI’s expansion plan for its logistics footprint and capabilities. Given the current size of the organization and the numerous business opportunities that have significant potential to develop, it is expected that this SVP will favorably impact the top and bottom line of the Company’s operations.
The SVP administers, operates and develops the region to meet NFI and employee expectations as outlined in the company business, and marketing plans. The position is a healthy mix of strategy and operations, leaning more towards strategy activities and leadership/development of the team. The Regional Vice-President has the responsibility for setting the direction and achieving key metrics within the business area. This position requires superior business acumen, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to implement new solutions and lean/continuous improvement programs. A key focus of this role will be to direct and coach department leaders to accomplish the goals of NFI along with ensuring embodiment of NFI’s Purpose, Vision, and Values in their day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities
- Works with the President of Distribution and leadership team to define Warehousing strategy including customer and employee satisfaction at existing business locations, identifies business targets and business development opportunities including organic growth, new start up’s and potential acquisition targets.
- Builds customer relationships at the executive, regional and local levels to support retention of existing business and helping to expand service offering with existing customers.
- Exhibits commitment to the development of NFI employees, including active ownership of self-development. Empowers and challenges team members to reach their full potential. Recruits, develops, and retains a high performing team.
- Collaborates with Sales team to increase activity within the region
- Creates operational plans to increase revenue and existing output at current locations. Strategically adjusts activities, policies and practices to meet or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals.
- Actively supports other business areas in the achievement of their goals
- Identifying key productivity metrics and working with local management to help drive delivery of budget targets
- Ensures start-ups, new initiatives, productivity tools and other programs are implemented as planned
- Ensures all facilities are maintained at the highest level of sanitation and layout
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements; with local, state, federal agencies.
- Coordinates with Human Resources as to the development of all employees
- Ensures that all cost controls and inventory results meet or exceed expectations
- Ensures all company property/assets are maintained relating to the targeted productivity and quality
- Provides ongoing review of accounts receivable to ensure timely collections
- Oversees all company spending and purchasing exercising good judgment and utilizing proper procedures
- Ensures that all billing is accurate and timely
- Provides complete and thorough analysis on building leases to ensure cost effectiveness
- Develops and maintain assurances in managing inter-company activities and all aspects of meeting account requirements
- Provides day-to-day leadership in the operations
- Facilitates customer/client visits
- Bachelor’s Degree (Advanced degree MBA preferred) — in any of the following disciplines: Logistics, Distribution, Engineering, Industrial Management, Finance.
- Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years of progressive responsibility within the distribution or logistics discipline—combined with proven warehouse leadership experience.
- Knowledge of distribution center operations to include: inventory management, transportation management, system management, plant layout, government regulation and compliance, budgeting and expense analysis.
- Business and intellectual competencies to include: industry knowledge and understanding, negotiating, strategic and tactical planning, warehousing and logistics, problem analysis, written and oral communication, people development, visioning and creativity.
- Interpersonal competencies to include: Integrity and trust, adaptability, leadership, motivation ability, coaching and mentoring, political savvy and initiative.
- Experienced in leading teams to operate multiple sites, using warehouse management systems, such as PKMS, WMS, AccuPlus, Foursite, Exceed.
- Experience with prospecting and evaluating potential properties for future business opportunities
- Experience with Material Moves, Warehouse Layout and Management Systems
- Extensive P&L management experience
- Strong experience with positive labor relations
- Travel required, often without ample notice.
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and potentially holidays as needed
