AKA: Game Designer

The Game Architect have duties like designing characters, levels, puzzles, art and animation. They also write code, using various computer programming languages. Depending on their career duties, they may also be responsible for project management tasks and testing early versions of video games.


Responsibilities
  • Delivers on the game vision set by the Creative Director and various Product Owners.
  • The Game Architect designs, develops, and maintains multiple overlapping game economies at scale.
  • Develops and implements adjustments to live economic systems to drive key results.
  • Runs reports and provides analysis of current game balance and economic health.
  • The Game Architect builds and maintains a set of reusable models for managing repeated event content with slightly fresh tuning each run.
  • The Game Architect works with art, engineering, and production to ensure sprint features maintain high quality and match the intended design
  • Leads playtests with Production and QA of features and builds to ensure excellent quality every sprint release.
  • Evaluates notable competitors and shares key insights / learnings to test. .

Qualifications
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Experience writing unit test, test cases and really testable code.
  • Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases.
  • Excellent knowledge of communication with Back-end services.
  • Robust understanding of the mathematics required to balance game economies.
  • Deep understanding of stat curves, player progression systems, and gameplay loops.
  • Creative, analytical and organizational skills with sound ability to write, communicate and maintain detailed design documentation.
  • Track record of having led games to success, Game studio experience is a big plus. .
