Responsibilities
- As a Big Data engineer, you are responsible for:
- Well understand and practicing big data coding using big data tools and techniques of the following technologies (Cloudera):
- Hive
- Kudu
- Impala
- Solr
- Data Integration Tools:
- Informatica
- Spark
- Sqoop
- Etc.
- Good understanding and experience in data management domain:
- Data Relationships (ERD)
- Data Integration (ETL)
- Data Processing (Transformation and Aggregation)
- Data Lakes
- Data Warehousing
- Understanding business problems to ensure projects are leveraging the appropriate technology and analytical tools in the delivery of a comprehensive solution
- Understand the business goals/needs while utilizing big data technology to ingest and analyze large amounts of data
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree with an emphasis on Computer Science or Engineering
- Min. work experience: 6 Years
- Min. 2 years of Experience developing solutions on Hadoop components
- Ability to think outside the box and understand the big picture thought process
- Ability to communicate clearly to business owners
- Experience with Java or a programming language required
- Working experience with Unix/Linux
- Data Mining/Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence experience a plus
- Results oriented, self-sufficient and steadfastly pushing self to achieve results.
- Experience in application development of distributed data storage and computing platforms.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytic, problem solving skills. .
