The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for developing and overseeing policies and programs used in the mitigation and/or reduction of compliance, operational, strategic, and financial security risk strategies relating to the personnel/staff, any assets, and other property.
Responsibilities
- Improves physical security on corporate LANs and WANs across multiple locations.
- Identifies goals and objectives for corporate security.
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) works with teams to assign and delegates authority across all security departments.
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) creates a culture of cyber security both with the IT organization and driving behavioral changes for the business.
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) evaluates security trends, evolving threats, risks and vulnerabilities and applies tools to mitigate risk as necessary.
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) ensures that the disaster recovery, business continuity, risk management and access controls needs of the facility are addressed.
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) ensures the institution/organization complies with the administrative, technical and physical safeguards.
- Serves in a leadership role for security compliance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving to achieve goals.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal communication and listening.
- Demonstrated skills in providing excellent service to clients.
- Proven track record in both technical and functional competencies in security.
- Experience with tools and systems that address disciplines like identity management and threat intelligence.
- High-level understanding of corporate governance, risk and compliance.
- Experience in security initiatives that impact applications, infrastructure and external threats.
