Responsibilities
- The R&D Scientist explores fundamental issues in computing and develops theories and models to address those issues.
- Helps scientists and engineers solve complex computing problems.
- The R&D Scientist invents new computing languages, tools, and methods to improve the way in which people work with computers.
- Develops and improve the software systems that form the basis of the modern computing experience.
- The R&D Scientist design experiments to test the operation of these software systems.
- The R&D Scientist analyzes the results of their experiments.
- Publish their findings in academic journals and present their findings at conferences.
- Creates and improves computer software and hardware. .
Qualifications
- Analytical skills must, be organized in their thinking and analyze the results of their research to formulate conclusions.
- Communication skills, must communicate well with programmers and managers and be able to clearly explain their conclusions.
- PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware/software, including applications and programming.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, and the measurement of training effects.
- Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
- Experience in device level reliability, fault tolerance, or security a plus. .
